Agapius Issue One

£5.00

The editors open the floor with essays on the Mayor of London’s expansion of the Ultra Low Emission Zone; tracking the snowball effect on the lower-income communities and farmers of the outer London area that have taken to protesting, and in some cases, destroying the ULEZ cameras under the collective moniker of the ‘bladerunners’. The second essay puts the act of protest itself under analysis, evaluating its effectiveness as a mechanism for affecting social change in the 21st-century, specifically through the lens of the recent national student lead pro-palestinian encampments.

The issue also includes reflections on the act of walking through an urban environment, the pursuit of supercar drag-racers that form an elusive presence of London’s night-life, and a consideration of the emerging digital pipeline on social media that seeks to radicalise and emblematise young people into the alt-right. Other articles include: the fantastical mycelium-inspired works of fashion designer Alessandro Tondolo, urban rewilding meets unique designs with architect Siân Moxon, a look at the marriage of natural resources and product design in Interp exhibition, a conversation with artist Rheim Alkadhi following their first UK exhibition Templates for Liberation, and a lively insight to foraging and cooking the Giant Puffball mushroom by Wilfred George.
